Sixty miles off the west coast of Scotland lies a land born of rugged terrain, steeped in Gaelic and Viking legends and forged in local tradition. Part of the Inner Hebrides, the island of Jura is one of the wildest reaches of Scotland. Across the ocean from Jura, the island of Manhattan is wild in a different way. From this city of towering skyscrapers, cultural icons, and non-stop energy, three intrepid bartenders made the 16-hour journey to the Hebrides to celebrate the two islands' shared love: Whisky. The result was a wealth of experience shared through story and photography. Jura wanted to create a printed piece using both that they could share with other bars and bartenders as a promotion and a keepsake. The solution was a 28-page bound book with gold-foil detail and touch paper. The final design was simple and understated, with expansive photography and thoughtful layouts that showed the breadth of the landscape and paired them with drink recipes evocative of the brand and experience.
