Oscar de la Renta was a world-renowned fashion designer, revered for his couture-like ready-to-wear collections that have provided many a show-stopping moment on the red carpet. After launching his eponymous line in 1965, the designer developed successful bridal, fragrance and homeware collections that established his reputation as one of the most successful and respected designers in the industry. In 2017 The U.S. Postal Service issued Forever stamps honoring Oscar de la Renta during a ceremony at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal. Made in collaboration with the USPS, the resulting panel of 11 stamps showcased 10 photos that celebrate details from some of his most exquisite gowns, and was capped by an evocative black-and-white portrait of de la Renta himself.
